Handle settlement day
Use this page when settlement day has arrived and your team needs to understand current support and limits. There is not yet one complete settlement-day workspace in Torrens.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Confirm that your firm is ready under its own settlement process.
- Confirm that external systems and parties are ready where required.
- Know who is responsible for live settlement decisions.
- Keep the live settlement process outside Torrens unless a current Torrens surface clearly supports recording that action.
- Open the Transaction.
- Check outstanding settlement-day tasks and readiness signals.
- Record settlement commencement where the current surface supports it.
- Record vendor funds received, purchaser payment made, lender drawdown, Landonline e-dealing submitted or lodged, settlement outcome, failure, or blockers only from external evidence, external confirmation, or practitioner confirmation.
- Attach or reference the evidence basis where Torrens supports it.
Check before you continue
Section titled “Check before you continue”- Torrens does not certify, sign, release, submit, or register Landonline dealings.
- Torrens does not move funds or control trust-account work.
- Torrens does not make the final call on how to respond to a live settlement blocker.
- Torrens records settlement facts; it does not prove the external system acted unless the recorded source supports that.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”When the external settlement outcome is confirmed or cannot proceed, record the outcome and continue to closeout, failure, or recovery handling under your firm’s process.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”The dedicated settlement-day practitioner runbook is still incomplete. These docs describe the current support: readiness visibility and source-based record keeping across a process your firm still runs with external systems and parties.
