Protect confidential information
Use this page when a Transaction involves lender, payout, settlement, or side-specific information.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Confirm whether your firm acts for the purchaser or vendor.
- Check who should see the information before uploading or recording it.
- Treat payout, lender, trust-account, and settlement-sensitive details as confidential unless your firm decides otherwise.
- Open the correct Transaction.
- Use the tab that matches the work.
- Check the role and acting-side context before uploading or recording sensitive information.
- Record only what belongs in Torrens.
- Keep external or side-only material outside shared views unless Torrens explicitly supports that visibility.
Check before you continue
Section titled “Check before you continue”- Seller-lender payout figures must not appear in purchaser-side material.
- Lender names, loan references, trust-account numbers, SCP evidence, and payout information should be synthetic or redacted in examples and training material.
- If you are unsure who should see something, stop and use your firm’s process before recording it.

Limits
Section titled “Limits”Torrens helps with visibility and records. It does not replace your firm’s confidentiality obligations or conflict checks.
